SB 572 Sallies Forth Again

The House Mass Transit Committee has approved a revised version of the SB 572, in the form of Amendment No. 10 (here).

Please post in comments any significant changes you find in Amendment No. 10.

Nothing of interest to me. The 9 or 12 vote thresholds remain for RTA action. The sales tax imposed is the same, and the distribution seems pretty much the same (i.e. the collar county boards still get to allocate the .25% sales tax, giving rise to the complaint from one Lake County legislator that the voters had already defeated a sales tax for roads there). They changed the Stroger appointment power to subject to confirmation by a majority of the members of the county board, instead of the suburban commissioners.

I once tried to convert various versions of the pages to Microsoft Word documents and run them through document compare, but their size and existing underlining made that nearly impossible.
